I think any girl can agree that there is not much that compares to having your best friend there for you, through thick and thin, standing by your side through all the ups and downs that life has to offer. As a girl in my young twenties, I am reminded basically every single day how lucky I am to have the girlfriends in my life that I have. They remind me how strong I am when I feel weak. They tell me how pretty I am when I'm not feeling my best. They show me that everything is going to be ok when I'm not having the greatest day.
It was Sunday afternoon when I got a call from my best friend Laura. Laura and I grew up down the street from each other and have stayed very close post high school and college. With her living in Charleston and myself in LA, we span the nation coast to coast but miles don't mean a thing to us. Sunday afternoon, Laura called me just needing some girl talk and told me she needed to get out of town for a bit. One of the things I admire most about Laura is her openness for spontaneous adventures! She's always been very spur of the moment, loves a fun experience and is pretty much down for anything! Pretty great qualities in a best friend, huh? I think so too!
Anyway, Laura flies in this afternoon and I could not be more excited to spend my week with her. I admire her for acknowledging what she needs most right now and that is to get away and spend time with her closest friends. That's what best friends are for right? We're there for each other through ups and downs and I could not be more thrilled for 12:05 this afternoon when Laura texts me from LAX. Let the girl time begin!
